Season of kites..

On this beautiful eve of 'Basant Panchmi', I would like to share my thoughts with you...

Go to rooftop of your house and have a look at the colors of life. See what is happening all around you. Have a look at the sky, filled with kites, and I am sure that your mind will insist you to fly like them! Well, that is rather difficult but you have an option: go and purchase a kite for yourself... Let it fly amongst all the other colorful kites in the blue sky and enjoy the moment. You will really feel happy to do so. But take care, that your hands are not hurt by the force of the wind, which will sway your kite and let it to be out of your control. Also take care that any other kite doesn't make yours to fall down!

Same thing applies to our life.. We must know how to live our life peacefully in the sense that we do not become over-confident and get hurt! There are rivals all around but we must know how to deal with them, how to convert their enmity into love... Enjoy flying your kites of life and have a nice day :)

Perhaps!

Sometimes, while sitting alone I usually stress my mind on the fact, "Perhaps!.. Tomorrow doesn't come.." Human life is transitory, its mortal. Nobody knows when he/she would leave this materialistic world and would be lost somewhere to a place which is out of imaginary! Then the only things left behind him on this world will be his/her works: both good ones and bad ones! He/she would be remembered by his works, his achievements.. Nobody will remember him/her if he/she did something against mankind and if remembered for the same, people will only shower their curses on them..
If a person is really intended to be immortal, i.e. known to people even after his death, then he must choose the path of truth, honesty, kindness, silence, non-violence and innocence and should gain worldly wisdom along with all such things! He/she should love everyone and never hate even his/her enemies, rather think for their betterment! We should commemorate the legends like Sh. Guru Tegh Bhadur ji, S. Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi and so many others, who lost their lives for doing something good for people and became immortal...
Lets take pledge in mind today, to restore each and every disorder created by us, to leave the path of lies, violence, dishonesty, cruelty, and unkindness in all aspects of life... Lets live our life peacefully and joyously! Happy reading!

Happy Lohri...

Lohri is a festival of Punjab, and is spreading to other states rapidly.. Do you know what is the story behind Lohri? Lets explore:
There are few renowned legends associated with this historic festival of Punjab, the most significant of them being the Dullah Bhatti, which evolved around the Festival of Lohri.

The Legend of Dullah Bhatti :

One of the many interesting legends has it that in a place that lies between Gujaranwala and Sialkot, there was a thick forest known as Rakh. The forest was the home of Dulla Bhatti, a dacoit who was considered as the Robin Hood of Punjab.
This brave and generous man was always helpful to the needy. During the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, a jealous Hindu spread a rumour that his niece was very beautiful and would do credit to the Muslim harem. On hearing this, the Mughal officers wanted to carry her off forcibly.

The girl’s father was extremely worried and sought the protection of Dulla Bhatti. Dulla at once got her married to a young Hindu boy at a simple ceremony in the forest. He lit the sacred fire in keeping with the Hindu custom. Since there was no priest to chant the holy mantras, he broke into a hilarious song composed extempore to add cheer to the occasion. This song is sung even today on the occasion.

The song goes like this :

Sundri Mundri Hoi! Hoi!
Tera Kaun Bechara! Hoi!
Dullah Bhatti wala! Hoi!
Dullah Di Dhi viyahi! Hoi!
Sher ShaKar pai! Hoi!
Kuri de Mamme aaye! Hoi!
UnaNe ChuRi Kuti! Hoi!
Jimidari Lutti! Hoi!
Ik kola GhuT Gaya!
Jimidar Apni…

all that is marked by merrymaking around a bonfire, as a symbol of the sun.

The Legend of Sun God :

Few days before Lohri, a bevy of village maidens assemble and visit the households to ask cow-dung cake. The girls gather round the house and chant: We've come, all the girls of the village! We've come to your courtyard! And so they go from house to house collecting cow-dung cakes till they have a veritable pile. They deposit all of them in one house and return to their homes. Their is a valid reason for girls to perform this ritual.

Lohri is celebrated on the last day of the month of Pans to mark the end of winter. It is said that the forefathers formulated a sacred mantra which protected them from the cold. This mantra invoked the Sun God to send them so much heat that the winter cold would not affect them. And, in thanks-giving to the Sun God, they chanted this mantra round a fire on the last day of Pans. The Lohri fire is symbolic of the homage to the sun.

song is sung on this occasion :

“Where have the shawls and braziers gone?
To the golden mountain Where's the golden mountain gone?
To the sun's ray Where has the sun's ray gone?
To the sun Where's the sun gone?
To the fire The fire burns, the ray warms
The snows melt, the cold days have ended.”

Our ancients believed that the flames of the fires they lit took their message to the sun, and that is why on the morning after Lohri, which is the first of the new month Magh, the sun's rays suddenly turn warm and take the chill out of people’s bones.

God adorns earth!

Today, i felt like God shed his tears of happiness over all of us and adorned the land! Let me tell you the story:
While coming back home from school, i was perhaps in a sad mood :( I was depressed and concerned about some worldly matters that enters everyone's life and exits simultaneously... On the way, it started drizzling, thundering, lightening and ultimately raining... I don't know how, but there came a big smile on my face :) My mood was completely altered and all the worldly matters that had ruined some precious time of my life were all gone!
On the way, i passed along various places which i never gave importance previously, knowing the fact that i use to pass along the way daily! Everything seemed to be new... As if i were flying amongst the clouds... I didn't care about my school uniform being dirty, or my school bag being wet :0 I just enjoyed the weather, which my God had sent on the earth especially for me! My fun got doubled, when I reached in front of a temple, where the great scent of 'incense sticks' (or what we call 'agarbattis' in our language) spread into the air and reached every heart nearby... I greeted my God and preceded my journey.
Overall, i would say that today, my journey was wonderful that was like an IRONY for me, because i had expected myself to be sad somehow, but i was rather happy.... really very happy! Thank you God! Love you always...

Lonely among crowd!

Hey friends, today, I am going to discuss with you all about your feelings when you find something new around your surroundings... new faces, new talks and new lifestyles... This kind of situation is, of course, faced by all of you- while joining a new workplace, or school, or tuition etc., where nobody knows you and you have nobody of your own, with whom you can share your feelings, except yourself! This situation is always experienced by women, who are newly married. In that situation, your mind wants to talk to those STRANGERS but is a little bit afraid, if something goes wrong... At that time, your reactions to the situation comes out in different forms... Sometimes in the form of a confused and jumbled-up conversation with second person, sometimes shivering of your voice makes you embarrassed, and often your feelings come out in the form of tears... This happens mostly with sensitive people who lack self-confidence and feel insecure. These people take some time to adapt themselves to the change that their life brought to them..

Let me tell you about my experience:

Even I was or maybe I am one of them! Let me tell you my personal experience of the first day in my school GMA. There were strangers all around! Nobody knew me and didn't even try to converse with me.. I had gathered some hopes in my mind to reply to someone if he/she speaks to me first! And when a new face asked my name, my shivering voice slipped out of my tongue.. thats bitter! You can't even imagine that I started crying in front of all. Do you know what happened next? A familiar face came in front of my eyes, and a sort of calmness and relief was found.. That little hope "I was not in strangers" relieved my mind of all the fears, insecurity, and concerns.

And today, those strangers have become an integral part of my life! Without them my life is just incomplete :^)
Now friends, I would like you to share your experience on the topic.. Keep commenting!
